The Cremax ICY DOCK Series Removable Hard Disk Modules are designed to turn your 2.5" form factor hard disk drives into a transportable (self powered) hot swappable device.
The MB124ER model allows you to install a standard 2"1/2 Hard Disk in a Shuttle Rack that will take place in its docking station that is connected via FireWire IEEE-1394, providing "HOT PLUG" functionnality.
This will let you connect and disconnect your hard drive while your system is running, no more need to restart your OS when changing Hard Disk is needed !!!
Moreover, this shuttle has its own power supply and FireWire IEEE-1394 Connector... That will allows you to connect it to any other Computer or LapTop Computer that provides a FireWire port ...
